Dr. Johnny McConnaughhay’s veterinary experiences range from treating traditional patients such as dogs, cats, cows, and horses to more exotic animals like ostrich, monkeys, and pythons. He resides in the central Nebraska town of Hastings and throughout his 18 plus years of private practice, Dr. McConnaughhay’s two daughters have spent endless hours in the clinic assisting him and experiencing first hand the excitement of going on routine veterinary calls in the country to midnight emergency surgeries at the clinic. These father-and-daughter adventures are the primary inspiration behind his desire to write Maddi Moo, Veterinarian's Daughter, Presidential Adventure. Dr. McConnaughhay graduated from Veterinary School at Kansas State University and has also worked as a veterinarian for Nebraska’s State Horse Racing Division and the United States Department of Agriculture. Among his many authentic adventures, Dr. McConnaughhay actually served as the veterinarian on-call when President Reagan visited Hastings College in the 1980's.
